A private house in the village of Aleksino near Moscow burned down after a lightning strike. This was reported on July 14 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

"Flames, smoke. People are all alive, animals are partially alive. [The house] burned down completely. Lightning struck the house. It hit somewhere under the roof, everything caught fire there. There was no way to extinguish it at first, and when all this flame began to penetrate into the house, literally 10 minutes passed – and that was it, it was already burning," said Zoya Chislova, the owner of the house.

The house has burned to the ground, the wooden structures are still smoldering, clouds of smoke are rising up. Rescuers continue to work at the site.

Earlier, on July 8, a fire broke out in a private house in the village of Yasenevo, Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result, a man born in 1996 and a child born in 2018 died.
