On Friday morning, January 31, in the north-west of the capital in the building, next to which the hostel is located, started a strong fire: the roof was burning. Then the fire partially spread to the hostel, but the fire was localized.
According to the Telegram-channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the fire was recorded in a long two-story office building in Skhodnensky tupik, near the metro station "Tushinskaya". Initially, it was reported that the fire area was 1.5 thousand square meters, but the fire spread rapidly and soon covered the territory of two thousand square meters. The roof of the unused structure collapsed as a result of the fire.
"Before the arrival of firefighting units, 300 people left the hostel", - said in the message of the Ministry of emergency Situations. Upon arrival of rescuers another 60 people managed to evacuate from the building. Information about victims or injured has not yet been received. Rescuers managed to inspect the building, people were not found there.
According to Ilya Misun, acting head of the Main Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow, firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the hostel.

Firefighters had a hard time localizing the fire due to a significant fire load and high temperature. Three Ka-32 and one Mi-26 helicopters of the Moscow Aviation Center took part in extinguishing the fire, which dropped more than 100 tons of water and foam on the fire.
At the same time, it is reported that the rapid spread of the fire may have been the reason for the late call of the firefighters. In addition, the people inside initially tried to extinguish the flames that had spread to the hostel themselves. However, the hostel officer who discovered the fire called the fire brigade, and the people quickly gathered their belongings and left the premises.
According to unconfirmed information, the hostel in Tushino was occupied by migrants who were working at a construction site.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown at the time of this article, but it is assumed that it could have been caused by faulty wiring or emergency operation of the power grid. Details are being established by the Tushino Prosecutor's Office.
