On July 14, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte after his words about the "frivolous" Russian delegation at the talks in Istanbul.

Earlier, Rutte said that the Russian side "did not send serious people" to the talks.

"Without knowledge of the history of the issue, no problem can be solved, it can only worsen. The illiteracy of NATO leaders has already led to numerous victims in the world," Zakharova said in a Telegram channel.

On June 27, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said he was ready to discuss with Rutte the history of Little Russia and the Zaporozhian Army. He also made a proposal to send the NATO Secretary General a school textbook on the history of Russia for the sixth grade. However, according to him, Rutte is unlikely to appreciate the gift.
