Experts note that the forecast will vary depending on specific weather conditions and atmospheric processes. Weather anomalies and natural disasters

At the same time, forecasters in Russia as a whole expect significant weather deviations from the norm and natural disasters in August 2025. There will be abnormal heat in some places, local showers, thunderstorms and squally winds.

In the south of Russia and in the European part of the country, heat is expected with temperatures up to +40 degrees, which will create a high burden on human health and the ecosystem. The Far East will face prolonged torrential rains lasting several weeks. This creates a high risk of large-scale floods, landslides in mountainous areas, disruptions in transport and public services, especially in coastal and mountainous settlements.

Weather conditions will be different in Siberia and the Urals. Thus, the western regions will receive moderate precipitation, favorable for agriculture, while the eastern regions will face sudden temperature fluctuations and local extreme events.

Meteorologists warn of the possibility of sudden temperature fluctuations — during the day it can vary from +14 to +29 degrees — as well as gusty winds, up to 20-25 m/s. Such fluctuations create an increased burden on the infrastructure and health of weather-sensitive people.

What useful berries, nuts, and herbs are harvested in August in Russia

In August, Russia begins an active harvest period in vegetable gardens, orchards and forests. At this time, they stock up on a variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, nuts and medicinal herbs. They are rich in vitamins and useful substances, and therefore help to strengthen health and maintain strength for the whole year.

Among the berries in August, you can still pick blueberries, which strengthen eyesight and immunity, gooseberries, rich in vitamin C and improving metabolism, raspberries, useful for colds and blood vessels, as well as lingonberries, which are valued for their antibacterial properties. Blueberries and blackberries are also popular: they are rich in antioxidants and support the health of the heart and blood vessels.

By the end of the month, sea buckthorn and cranberries ripen, which strengthen the immune system and promote the health of the urinary system. Also available in August are cherries, currants and watermelon, which have anti-inflammatory properties and are rich in vitamins.

August is the traditional time for collecting nuts, especially for the feast of the Nut Savior on August 29. Russians especially appreciate walnuts, which contain omega-3 and B vitamins that strengthen the brain and heart. Hazelnuts and hazelnuts are rich in magnesium and vitamins, beneficial for the nervous system and blood vessels. Pine nuts are a source of protein and vitamins E and K, while almonds, pistachios, and cashews support heart health and contain antioxidants.

Also in August, the collection of medicinal herbs continues, which are widely used for making infusions and teas. In addition to harvesting, plant care continues in August: carrots and beets are fertilized, crops are thinned, cabbage is fed, unnecessary pumpkin whips are removed, shrubs are treated and trees are pruned. You can also plant greens — salads, dill, parsley — and prepare the cellar for storage by disinfecting it. August is also considered a good time to sow a new lawn.

Traditional signs say that if it's hot during the day in August and cold at night, the weather will stay warm for a long time. They also pay attention to the sky: it is believed that if the clouds are sparse, then this leads to clear and chilly weather in early autumn, and if the clouds are streaked, then the rainy season is coming.

Cobwebs on plants are considered a sign of dry weather, and if the oats turn green for the second time, it portends a rainy autumn. A rich harvest of acorns from the oak is traditionally associated with a good grain harvest.

Animal behavior also serves as a kind of weather indicator: swallows and swifts flying low portend thunderstorms, sparrows hiding under the roof — bad weather, and frogs croaking on the surface of the water - rain. Spiders weaving webs promise sunny weather, and the chirping of grasshoppers promises dry and clear weather.
