Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi called the talks with Putin wonderful.
The head of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araqchi, said that the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place on June 23 in the Kremlin, were wonderful. This was announced on June 25 by the press service of the head of the Iranian diplomatic mission in the Telegram channel.
"The meeting with Mr. Putin was wonderful," the press service quoted Arakchi as saying.
The report says that Russia and Iran cooperate widely in the nuclear field, and the dialogue between the two heads of state on this issue was constructive. In addition, Araqchi noted Russia's firm position against attacks by the United States and Israel on the Islamic Republic.
It is clarified that he also stated a sign of Israel's weakness due to the involvement of the United States in the conflict. Araqchi stressed that Iran had agreed to a cease-fire only in order to "maintain its moral superiority."
In the interview, the Foreign Minister also commented on the issue related to the nuclear program, noting that attacks on the Islamic Republic would have a serious impact on its development. According to him, Iran will not abandon its plans regarding the nuclear program.
Araqchi added that a return to negotiations on this topic with the United States is impossible without a cease-fire. He stated that Iran will continue to resist the aggression directed against it and respond to it "in the same context."
During a meeting with Araqchi on June 23, Putin said that the strikes on Iran were an unprovoked aggression that had no justification. He added that against the background of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the Russian side is making efforts to assist the Iranian people.
On June 21, US President Donald Trump announced a successful attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities. He later threatened Tehran with new strikes if peace was not achieved.
