The choice of an investment tool critically depends on the time frame: some options are beneficial only for a short distance, others for a long game, Fyodor Sidorov, a private investor and founder of the School of Practical Investment, told Izvestia on June 10.

"One or another instrument can be recommended only with an eye to the investment period. The shorter the period, the fewer options available," the specialist noted.

In his opinion, bank deposits remain attractive for short-term investments. Despite the reduction of the key rate to 20%, deposits bring in 16-19% per annum. The shorter the term, the higher the yield.

In addition, for medium- and long-term investments, he advises paying attention to federal loan bonds (OFZ). OFZ yields now exceed deposit rates — 18-20% and higher for several years. At the same time, the key rate does not affect already purchased fixed income securities.

Shares of banks developing their ecosystems also remain promising. The expert recommends liquidity funds and foreign currency bonds to diversify the portfolio.

As for gold, buying it now involves risks.

"The price has reached $3.3 thousand per ounce, and a correction is possible if geopolitical tensions decrease. As an alternative, mutual funds investing in shares of gold mining companies can be considered," Sidorov concluded.

The information in the material is not an investment recommendation.

Earlier, on May 20, Alexander Anfinogenov, an economist and expert on the consumer goods market (FMCG), pointed to high profits when investing in coffee in an interview with Izvestia. According to him, it is always profitable to invest in coffee, as it is an almost complete guarantee of a return on invested funds and profits.
