Mitsubishi Motors has no plans to resume car production in Russia. This is reported on June 9 Autonews.ru with reference to the statement of the general manager of global communications of the company, Yusuke Kawamoto.

"The production of Mitsubishi cars in Russia has been suspended since April 2022, and we have officially decided not to resume it," the publication quotes Kawamoto.

The top manager stressed that he could not provide any additional information at the moment.

The publication, with reference to the Russian office of MMC Rus (general distributor of Mitsubishi Motors in Russia), notes that all Mitsubishi's activities in the country have been preserved, with the exception of official car deliveries. Warranty obligations and after-sales service are fully supported, they said.

Mitsubishi cars were produced in Russia at the PSMA Rus plant in full cycle mode until 2022, the plant was opened in 2009. It produced the Outlander and Pajero Sport models.

Earlier, on May 30, Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, denied reports that Toyota was returning to the Russian market. He pointed out that dealers transport cars to the country "in parallel" with the payment of commercial scrap, and also provide a dealer warranty for two years (the manufacturer is not responsible for it).
