The media reported on Trzaskowski's unwillingness to sign the nationalist declaration
The representative of the ruling Civic Coalition party, Warsaw Mayor and Polish presidential candidate Rafal Trzaskowski refused to sign the declaration proposed by Slawomir Mentzen, candidate of the coalition of nationalists and Eurosceptics. This was reported by Gazeta Prawna on May 25.
The document contains eight points, including an obligation not to sign laws on Ukraine's admission to NATO. Trzaskowski refused to sign the declaration because he disagreed with this point.
"I won't sign anything. I'm not Karol Navrotsky," he said.
In addition to these points, the document contains others, including obligations not to sign laws that raise taxes on Polish citizens, as well as restricting the circulation of cash and freedom of expression.
On May 18, the newspaper Rzeczpospolita reported on the likely exit of Rafal Trzaskowski and the candidate of the opposition Law and Justice party Karol Nawrocki in the second round of the presidential elections in Poland. According to the survey, Trzaskowski received 30.8% of the vote, while Navrotsky was supported by 29.1% of voters. Now they will have to take part in the second round, which is scheduled for June 1.
