Two riders were killed in a collision of 11 motorcycles at the British Superbikes race in Britain. This was announced on May 5 by Sky Sports TV channel.

"Owen Jenner, 21, and Shane Richardson, 29, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision of 11 motorcycles at the first corner of the first lap. Tom Tunstall, 47, was transferred to Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious back and abdominal injuries," the channel's website says.

It was clarified that five more riders received minor injuries on the track, but only three remained unharmed. Immediately after the accident, medical services were sent to the highway. Because of the incident, the rest of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship was canceled.

In the USA, on April 29, a new top speed record was set at drag racing competitions in the Top Fuel class of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) championship. It was set by 38-year-old racer Brittany Force, who accelerated to 549.74 km/h (341.59 mph).
