On the eve of Victory Day, the premiere of the sequel to the series "SMERSH 3" will take place on REN TV. It will be released on May 8th.
It will tell a fictional story about the upcoming assassination attempt on Stalin in 1944. It should be carried out by the defectors, the spouses of Tavrina and Shilov. In the story, a group of saboteurs are intercepted by Soviet counterintelligence agents and begin a radio game with German spies.
It is noted that the fictional scenario has many parallels with the real events that took place in 1944, including the upcoming assassination attempts on top officials of the USSR.
During the filming, special attention was paid to the relevance of that time. In particular, the series will tell about Operation Fog, during which a radio game was played with a German agent.
On April 29, actor Vladislav Kotlyarsky, who played one of the main roles, senior state security Lieutenant Pavel Romanovich Semenov, spoke about his work on SMERSH 3. He said that the series will feature a storyline related to his relatives.
