Lavrov called Macron's nuclear rhetoric a threat to Russia

Moscow considers the nuclear rhetoric of French President Emmanuel Macron to be a threat to Russia. This was announced on March 6 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"If he considers us a threat, convenes a meeting of the chiefs of general staffs of European countries and Britain, says that it is necessary to use nuclear weapons, is preparing to use nuclear weapons against Russia — this is, of course, a threat," he said at a press conference.

According to Lavrov, Macron "apparently wants the same thing" as Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler, who sought to defeat Russia in the past.

Macron, in an address to the nation on March 6, stated that he intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). The French president called on the EU to provide itself with the largest amount of military equipment and build up defense capabilities "for the sake of peace itself." In addition, he said that next week in Paris will be a meeting of the chiefs of the General Staffs of the Armed Forces (AF) of several countries, which will be devoted to discussions on Ukraine.
