Family psychologist named ways to survive cheating partner
About 70% of married couples experience infidelity, and a third of families are destroyed after infidelity. Family psychologist and therapist Anastasia Kardiakos told us whether it is worth forgiving infidelity and what to do to save the relationship.
According to her, it is possible to forgive cheating, but it will require a lot of work. The partner will need to weigh a lot of things to forgive the pain caused to him, but it can help to apologize and talk. That being said, the key is not just to forgive cheating, but to accept it, which is often much more difficult.
"Acceptance is the realization that it happened in life. And only after making certain conclusions, discussing, you can move on," said Kardiakos in a conversation with Radio 1.
The psychologist specified that until acceptance is reached the cheating partner should be ready for accusations, yelling and complaints, and after all stages, including bargaining, denial and depression, the situation should be let go and move forward without recriminations. She also advised such couples to consult a psychologist to work through the painful experience.
On February 4, family psychologist Natalia Panfilova told how not to quarrel while traveling with family or friends. In a conversation with NSN, she urged to agree in advance on the time spent on vacation, as well as to designate each other's interests, including their own.
Earlier, expert David King revealed the main signs of infidelity of the spouse. One of the first signs, according to him, is a change in behavior. For example, a man begins to shave more often, go to the gym, dress neatly and use perfume.
