The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sent an unclassified letter to the government's human resources department with the names of employees hired over the past two years. This was reported by NBC News on February 6.

According to NBC, the document was sent as part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the United States Donald Trump on reducing the number of federal officials.

The source of the TV channel said that the letter contains the names and first initials of the names of people on probation. The number of individuals named is unknown. The same source noted that the authorities' human resources department does not have a classified network for data transmission, so the letter was sent in the open, Gazeta.Ru specifies .

"Any foreign intelligence service worth its salt could have applied research and analytical tools to match these names and initials with other public records to identify and pursue many of them," the unnamed senior intelligence official clarified.

On Jan. 30, CBS News reported that the Trump administration has demanded that some high-ranking members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) submit a letter of resignation or retire. If the requirement is not met, the officials will be forcibly dismissed, specified the interlocutors of the publication.

On February 5, it became known that the CIA offered all its employees the opportunity to resign with cash bonuses in the amount of eight months' salary. According to officials, this is an attempt to align the agency with Trump's priorities, including fighting drug cartels and shrinking the federal government.

On the same day, CNN reported that at least 40,000 people had agreed to leave government service in exchange for the U.S. president's offer of an eight-month severance package.
