The Russian military in the Kursk border region is fighting coolly, competently and boldly. This is how Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed their work on February 5 during a meeting with Alexander Khinshtein, interim governor of Kursk Region, in the Kremlin.

This is how the head of state characterized the Far Eastern marines.

"Indeed, the Far Eastern marines fight coolly, competently, boldly. The Black Sea Fleet marines - the 810th brigade - and paratroopers - the 106th division, the 76th division and many other units - fight the same way on this section of the battlefield," the Kremlin website quoted the Russian dealer as saying.

Khinstein, in turn, handed Putin a request from the command and personnel of the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet to give them the honorary name "Kurskaya."

Also during this meeting, Putin said that he would instruct the Russian government to work out a program to restore the border region together with the head of Kursk region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
