The U.S. authorities, as part of a tougher migration policy, have announced their intention to deport some of its citizens to countries that no longer exist. Thus, according to the data of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE), presented on January 29, 337 people should be deported to the USSR, another 845 - to Yugoslavia.

The list compiled by the administration of the country's previous leader, Joe Biden, included another 254 Czechoslovakian citizens.

In total, the country should get rid of 1.44 million people during the deportation program. Most migrants are supposed to be deported to Honduras (261,651 people), Grenada (253,413) and Mexico (252,044). In addition, the list of countries includes the column Unknown. In this "direction", according to the decision of the authorities, should deport 1,451 people.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the formerly busy streets of the American city of Chicago emptied due to the fears of local residents before the anti-migration raids, which began as part of the campaign of US President Donald Trump to deport a large number of illegal migrants.

The New York Post reported on January 28 that the first large-scale raids against migrants had begun in New York City. It was specified that the target of the arrests were migrants suspected of committing serious crimes. Then it was reported that the U.S. immigration service made about 1.2 thousand arrests in one day, and almost half of the detainees have no criminal record.

Before that, on January 24, the authorities of the state of Mississippi offered to pay detectives for catching illegals at $1 thousand for each successful deportation of a border violator. On the same day it became known that after Trump came to power in the U.S. sharply, by 35%, reduced the number of crossings of the southern border.

On January 20, immediately after his inauguration, Trump signed more than 200 new executive orders. Among them, the introduction of a state of emergency on the border with Mexico. In addition, the American president repeatedly stated that he was going to cancel the granting of American citizenship by birthright.
