On January 26, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the results of the combat work of servicemen of a motorized rifle regiment as part of the "North" group of troops in defeating armored vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the liberated village of Kruglenkoye in Kursk Region.
The motorized riflemen told about the combat work of their unit in the Kruglenkoye settlement of Sujan district, Kursk Region.
"The most difficult thing was one trail, enough distance was a trail, such, not small, about 4 kilometers passed on foot. Constant exposure to artillery, mortars, enemy birds were also constantly circling. The weather helped, it helped a lot! Snow, fog, that is, under the cover, so to say, of weather conditions, we went in very well. We reached the village itself, knocked out the enemy from the first houses, and then slowly and systematically house by house", - shared the deputy commander of the battalion under the call sign Boba.
As a result of successful work Russian servicemen managed to knock out the Ukrainian formations and nearby fortified positions of the AFU.
"The most difficult thing for me was to get people to the point, that is, specifically to reach the enemy's entrenchment was the hardest. Already directly, when we faced each other head-on, the enemy had already started to withdraw. Of course, it was more important to enter the forest in front of Kruglenkoe. Already Kruglenkoye was the first target after this forest to take," said the company commander with the call sign Tiger.
When the AFU retreated, they left behind evidence of destruction: damaged structures that had previously served as shelter for armed formations and burned vehicles.
Earlier, on January 17, the Defense Ministry said that within two weeks the Russian army had liberated four settlements - Alexandria, Leonidovo, Russkoe Porechnoye and Kruglenkoe in the border areas of Kursk Region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the President of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
