Private Budayev helped clear an AFU stronghold in the SVO zone
Private Alexander Budayev participated in the liberation of one of the settlements in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone and discovered a camouflaged stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday, January 26, reported on the exploits of the Russian army servicemen while performing combat missions in the zone of special military operation (SMO).
Using the terrain, Budayev managed to sneak unnoticed into the enemy's flank and attack. The effect of surprise allowed the AFU to inflict serious damage, and the enemy lost some of its personnel who were not ready for the attack. While Budayev switched the enemy's attention to himself, Russian servicemen broke into the stronghold and cleared it.
After that, the private was engaged in the defense of new borders, confronting the enemy who tried to regain control of the stronghold.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the competent actions of Private Yevgeny Baikov, who together with his unit held positions at an important tactical line. The AFU, attempting to regain the positions from which they had previously retreated, sent their assault groups to the Russian lines.
Baikov fired on the advancing enemy, moving competently and professionally holding his positions. The AFU assault groups lost a significant part of their personnel and were forced to retreat.
Earlier, on January 24, the Defense Ministry reported that junior sergeant Pavel Zyabkin commanded an automatic grenade launcher (AGS) and eliminated two machine-gun points of the AFU.
Prior to that, on January 24, the Defense Ministry reported that Sergeant Sergei Voevodin took out a vehicle with cargo for the Russian group of troops from under the artillery fire of the AFU.
