Lieutenant Sergei Voevodin took out a vehicle with cargo for the Russian group of troops from under artillery fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday, January 24, reported on the exploits of Russian army servicemen while carrying out combat missions in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone.

Voevodin, as part of the logistics brigade, delivered necessary ammunition and foodstuffs to Russian servicemen. The convoy, which included his truck, was attacked by Ukrainian artillerymen. Skillfully maneuvering, Voevodin took the vehicle out from under enemy fire and managed to get to the destination in time, delivering the cargo safely.

The Defense Ministry also noted the professional actions of Sergeant Andrei Zanin, who was engaged in organizing communications for a battalion tactical group of the Russian Armed Forces. Artillery shelling by the AFU artillery damaged the antenna feeder and repeater with a set of digital equipment for radio signal amplification. This resulted in the loss of communication, which was necessary during the battle to coordinate the actions of Russian servicemen.

Zanin advanced to the site of the damage despite the threat of FPV drone attacks and regular shelling. He managed to repair the damage and restore the communication channel.

Earlier, on January 23, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Private Ilfat Garipov noticed the approach of a sabotage group of the AFU when he was on duty at an observation post. Having decided to ambush the approaching enemy, Garipov found a suitable place to hide. When the saboteurs came closer, the private opened fire, causing serious damage to the enemy.

Prior to that, on January 22, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Sergeant Vladimir Erofeev commanded an assault group at one of the important areas of the Russian troops' offensive and managed to capture an AFU stronghold without losses.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
