The Defense Ministry reported the destruction of 49 drones over Russian territory
Air defense means eliminated 49 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the territory of Russia in three hours. This was reported on Thursday, January 23, by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Between 19.00 and 22.00 Moscow time, 49 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by on-duty air defense means," the ministry's Telegram channel said in a statement.
According to its data, 37 drones were destroyed over the territory of the Kursk region, seven - over the Bryansk region, four more over the territory of the Republic of Crimea and one over the territory of the Belgorod region.
On the eve of the Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the regional operative staff had decided to evacuate the residents of the village of Terezovka in the Shebekinsky urban district. At the meeting of the operative staff it was decided that residents of Malinovka, Otradnoye, Krasnaya Niva and Tolokonnoye settlements of Belgorod district would receive partial compensation for rent.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
