Air defense forces destroyed five AFU drones over Belgorod region

Russian air defense forces have shot down five drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over Belgorod Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 21.

"Between 13:05 and 14:15 Moscow time, on-duty air defense means destroyed five Ukrainian drones over the territory of Belgorod region," the ministry said in its Telegram channel.

Earlier in the day, the ministry said that air defense forces shot down 11 AFU drones between 11:00 and 11:50 Moscow time: eight over Crimea and the Black Sea and three more over the Belgorod region.

At the same time, the agency said that over the Black Sea and Crimea air defense forces destroyed three Ukrainian drones between 10:45 and 11:00 Moscow time.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
