Air defense systems destroyed 55 Ukrainian UAVs overnight over Russian regions
Air defense forces destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, the Russian Defense Ministry has said. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 20.
"During the past night, air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 55 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," the press service informed in the Telegram-channel of the ministry.
It is specified that 22 of them - over the territory of the Bryansk region, 12 - over the territory of the Rostov region, ten - over the territory of the Smolensk region, six drones - over the territory of the Voronezh region, four - over the territory of the Saratov region and one more - over the territory of the Kursk region.
Earlier, on January 20, air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian UAVs over seven Russian regions overnight. Thus, 14 UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region, six over the Kaluga region, three each over the Belgorod and Kursk regions, two each over the Ryazan and Orel regions and one over the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
