The governor of the Bryansk region reported 18 destroyed UAVs over the region
Air defense (air defense) means have destroyed 18 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the skies over the Bryansk Region, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on January 21.
"The air defense forces of the Russian Defense Ministry intercepted and destroyed 18 UAVs, including two jets," he said in his Telegram channel.
Also about 12 destroyed UAVs on the night of January 21, Yuri Slyusar, acting governor of the Rostov region, reported. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
In addition, on the night of January 21, Governor of Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin reported that air defense forces prevented a UAV attack on the regional center. Roof fires were noted on the ground and on the roofs of some buildings as a result of falling UAV debris. The windows of residential buildings were also damaged, the head of the region added.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
