Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. The Defense Ministry said that units of the "West" group of forces liberated the village of Novohorovka in the LNR, while units of the "Center" group of forces continued advancing deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and liberated the village of Shevchenko in the DNR.
The enemy lost up to 545 servicemen, two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, three vehicles and a 122-millimeter Gvozdika self-propelled artillery unit in the Center group's area of responsibility.
In addition, Russian air defenses destroyed a French Hammer guided aerial bomb, eight American HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 86 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type.
A total of 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 40,878 UAVs, 590 surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs), 20,684 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,510 MLRS combat vehicles, 20,809 field artillery and mortar guns, and 30,501 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special operation.
