Four US-made HIMARS missiles and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were destroyed overnight over the Bryansk Region. This was reported by the governor of the region Alexander Bogomaz on January 20.

"During the past night our valiant defenders repelled another enemy attack. The air defense forces of the Russian Defense Ministry destroyed four HIMARS missiles and 14 aircraft-type UAVs over the Bryansk region," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Bogomaz specified that there were no casualties and destruction as a result of the attack.

Earlier in the day, the authorities of Tatarstan reported about foiled attempts of the AFU to attack industrial enterprises of Kazan with the help of UAVs. It was reported that as a result no one was injured and there was no destruction. Before that, Kazan airport introduced restrictions on the reception and departure of airplanes.

In addition, similar measures were introduced in the air harbors of Izhevsk and Nizhnekamsk.

Also on January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions. 14 UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories amid the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
