Tatarstan authorities reported an attempted UAV attack on Kazan's industrial enterprises

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to attack industrial enterprises in Kazan with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), all the drones were neutralized. This was reported by the press service of the head of Tatarstan on January 20.

"This morning there was an attempt to attack the industrial enterprises of the republic by enemy drones. A set of defense measures was taken. As a result, all UAVs were neutralized," the message published in the Telegram-channel said.

It was specified that as a result no one was injured, there is no destruction. At the moment, the emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences.

Earlier in the day at the airport of Kazan introduced restrictions on the reception and departure of airplanes.

Also on January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight. It was specified that one attack was prevented over the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
