Air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian UAVs overnight over seven Russian regions
The air defense forces have destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 20.
"During the past night, on-duty air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 31 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," the report said.
It is specified that 14 UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region, six over the Kaluga region, three each over the Belgorod and Kursk regions, two each over the Ryazan and Orel regions and one over the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Earlier in the day, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that air defense forces had destroyed 11 UAVs in the skies above the region. Later he also reported the destruction of another drone. According to him, there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
