Russian air defence forces have destroyed four Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Belgorod and Kursk regions, the Russian Defence Ministry has said on 19 January. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.

"On-duty air defense means destroyed four Ukrainian UAVs: three over the territory of Belgorod region and one over the territory of Kursk region," the statement said.

The attacks were repelled between 12:40 and 13:10 Moscow time, the ministry said.

A day earlier, the Defense Ministry said that Russian air defense forces destroyed eight Ukrainian drones over the territory of Crimea. The drones were shot down in an hour - from 20:00 to 21:00 Moscow time.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
