Soldiers of the All-Russian Army of the "West" group of troops took a dip in the ice-hole in the zone of the special military operation (SMO) on the day of the Epiphany celebration. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 18.

The ministry noted that the baptismal bathing was organized in compliance with all safety measures. Father Andrei, the assistant to the commander of the All-Russian Army for work with believers, blessed all those present before the festive bathing.

At the same time, where there is no possibility to make a font, faithful soldiers of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation take a dip in consecrated waters, the Defense Ministry added.

"For some, the Epiphany holiday is a tribute to traditions and a test of their body and spirit. For others, it is an inner peace of mind," the ministry emphasized.
