Nutritionist names fruit used to treat cancer
Pomegranate seeds contain the bulk of vitamins and useful unsaturated fatty acids, so they are not dangerous, but necessary for consumption. This was stated by nutritionist, cardiologist Margarita Koroleva on Wednesday, January 15.
"They contain up to 70% of fatty acids. They reduce inflammation, have antioxidant activity, protect the body from oxidation. The outer shell of pomegranate seeds has a sorbent that improves the intestinal flora," the doctor explained in a conversation with Radio 1.
According to her, the pomegranate seeds have a huge amount of B vitamins, which support the performance of the nervous system and promote restful sleep.
"The seeds have an anti-parasitic effect because they contain punicic acid and pomegranate acid in their composition, which helps to reduce even tumor growth. It is no coincidence that pomegranate seeds are even used in the treatment of cancer diseases, including leukemia," concluded the nutritionist.
At the same time, the expert warned that pomegranate seeds can not eat those who have diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GI).
Earlier, on January 14, Koroleva said that this fruit contains a lot of iron, potassium and components beneficial to the heart, RT reports.
In turn, nutritionist-endocrinologist Alena Barredo recommended men to eat pomegranate. It contains antioxidants, vitamin C, zinc and selenium, which improve testosterone production, reports NSN.
