Matviyenko warned against attempts to interfere in Russia's internal affairs
Russia will not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs. This was stated by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko on January 13 during a meeting with journalists on the occasion of the Day of the Russian Press.
In addition, she noted that the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation will continue working to protect its sovereignty from outside interference amid the aggression deployed against Russia.
"We will continue to work to protect our sovereignty from outside interference, to strengthen our sovereignty," Matvienko emphasized.
Before that, on December 19, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had kept Russia safe after the departure of former Russian leader Boris Yeltsin. According to him, everything that happened to Russia before and after was leading it to a complete loss of sovereignty. Without sovereignty, Russia cannot exist as an independent state, the Russian leader emphasized.
Earlier, on December 12, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the West is obsessed with anti-Russian sanctions, but Russia has adapted to them and continues to follow its course.
Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
