Pensions will be indexed twice during 2026, State Duma deputy from the United Russia party Nikita Chaplin told RIA Novosti in an interview on Wednesday, January 8.

"Two indexations are foreseen in 2026: by 4.5% from February 1 and 5.5% from April 1," he said.

According to Chaplin, two indexation will also be carried out in 2027. The pension increase this time will be 4 and 4.1%.

Earlier, January 5, State Duma deputy Nikita Chaplin said that from 2025 the indexation of pensions of working pensioners in the Russian Federation will be automatic.

Before that, on January 3, an expert of the Presidential Academy Marina Solodovnikova reminded that in 2025 working pensioners will return indexation of pensions, which was suspended in 2016. She specified that indexation will be applied to the pension amount, which takes into account all indexations since 2016, and not to the already paid insurance pension. In addition, Solodovnikova added that the cost of one pension point will increase to Br142.76 from Br133.05.

January 1, it became known that from the beginning of 2025 in Russia increased pensions. It was noted that the indexed pension from the beginning of 2025 will receive about 9 million working pensioners in Russia.

November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the social pension will be indexed by 14.75%. After indexation, its amount from April 1, 2025 will be 15,456 rubles. In addition, insurance pensions will be increased by 7.3% on January 1, 2025.
