Politicians in the United States pay special attention to the inaugural address. It is seen as a declaration of principles for the new administration. It is rare for US first officials to write the speech themselves, but the previous time Donald Trump said he would prepare the text himself.

In his first address to the people of America as president, Trump said his policies would draw on Ronald Reagan's "incredible style" and John F. Kennedy's "articulation of great national ambition."

According to the 20th Amendment to the constitution of 1933, the terms of office of the president and vice president end at noon on January 20 (at 20:00 Moscow time). The terms of office of their successors begin at the same time.

Inauguration of the President of the United States - 2025: how it will be held, the program

The inauguration ceremony will begin with Trump's visit to the White House, where he will meet with former President Joe Biden and his family. This tradition is a symbol of the peaceful transfer of power. The president-elect and his vice president will then take the oath of office, followed by a 21-gun salute and the U.S. national anthem, before Trump delivers a speech.

It is reported that the inauguration of the president may be attended by politicians from different countries. It is already known that Trump invited Chinese President Xi Jinping, but instead of him the ceremony will be attended by the Chinese ambassador to the United States and his wife. Representatives of the Chinese diplomatic mission in the United States may be joined by officials from Beijing.
