The weather forecaster warned of a cold snap in Moscow by Thursday
The weather in the capital region will remain warm this week, but most days of the working week will have rains of varying intensity. Monday will be the warmest day, and it will get colder by Thursday. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on October 12.
According to Pozdnyakova, Monday will be the warmest of the week. It is expected to be around +17 degrees. Despite the clouds, there may be some light, short-term rain in some places.
On Tuesday, October 13, light rain is expected at night, light to moderate in the afternoon. The night will be even warmer: the minimum temperature is about +11 degrees, daytime is +12...+14. During the day, the wind will begin to change direction to the northwest, so in the following days the temperature regime will change downward.
In the middle of the week, according to the forecaster, there will be light rain at times. The minimum temperature in Moscow will be +5...+7, in the region — up to +3. Daytime temperature in Moscow is +11...+13, in the region +8...+13. The wind is north-westerly, moderate.
On Thursday, the weather will be determined by the periphery of the anticyclone. In some places, a slight short-term rain during the daytime is possible. The night will be the coldest this week: the temperature is in the range of +1...+6, in Moscow it is about +5. Daytime temperature is +9...+14.
"In the following days, the weather will be determined by the periphery of the anticyclone. With variable clouds, precipitation is not expected. It will get a little warmer at night: +3...+8. And the daytime temperature will be at the level of +11...+16. The air temperature will be 3-4 degrees above the climatic norm," Pozdnyakova noted.
She also stressed that the warm weather remains, but most days of the working week will have precipitation from light to moderate rains.
Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center, reported on October 11 that the first snow in Moscow this year could fall much later than the long-term average. According to him, in the 21st century, the average date of the first snowfall in the capital falls on October 18, and temporary snow cover usually forms by November 3, but this year there is a high probability of a later onset of both phenomena.
