Japanese professor blames USSR for bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by USA
Russia is responsible for the US dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as the USSR allegedly provoked this attack. This was announced on September 4 by Tetsuo Arima, a Japanese professor at Waseda University.
"If the Soviet Union had not violated the Yalta Agreement and expanded its influence quickly, the atomic bomb would not have been dropped on Japan...> Russia is responsible for the atomic bombings," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In his opinion, the dropping of the bomb was not necessary to force Japan to surrender, but, on the contrary, was used as intimidation to deter "Soviet expansion" in Asia after Japan's defeat in World War II.
On August 6, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, called the behavior of Japanese officials a disgrace, who nowhere mention the role of the United States in the atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He added that Japan has become an official vassal of the United States.
