The Russian Armed Forces have attacked two vessels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea. This was announced on August 25 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched an attack using Geran —4 Seeker unmanned aerial vehicles on a tanker—type vessel in the Yuzhny port in the Odessa region and a dry cargo-type vessel in the port of Odessa," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that the strikes were carried out in order to reduce the ability to transport weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out on the ships.

On August 25, the Russian Defense Ministry added that the Russian Army had hit the training and launch site of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Flamingo cruise missiles. In addition, military industry enterprises, logistics centers, fuel and energy complex facilities, as well as transport and port infrastructure in Ukraine were attacked during the day.
