"Many municipalities in the canton of Aargau are actively encouraging their residents to conserve water. Others, especially in the south and west of the canton, go even further, prohibiting watering pools and lawns, as well as washing cars," the text says.

It is specified that since mid-June, water intake from most streams has also been limited, which has created difficulties for agriculture. Farmers report drying up of meadows and pastures. According to the MeteoSwiss meteorological service, the maximum risk of drought remains throughout the country.

In addition, in Zurich, the effects of the drought are noticeable on the shores of the lake: due to the decrease in water levels, areas that are usually under water have been exposed. Some shipping companies were forced to reduce flights, and some events on the water were canceled. In the canton of Basel-Land, some municipalities have also imposed restrictions on water use, including bans on watering plants, filling pools, and washing cars.

In the eastern part of Switzerland, due to the need to conserve water, the pool in Ucville closed earlier than planned. In turn, the municipality of Wezen appealed to residents to limit the consumption of drinking water.
