The United States is preparing a plan for large-scale "economic isolation" of Iran

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said Washington would soon announce "unprecedented economic measures" against Tehran, Bloomberg reported on August 14.

"There will be new announcements next week because we are going to apply measures unprecedented in the history of the country's economic isolation," Bessent said.

The minister added that the move would be part of a "double blow" that includes continuing the blockade of Iranian ports.

According to the agency, the peace talks between the two sides of the conflict "have reached an impasse." As a result, periodic clashes continue, disrupting the supply of oil and other key goods from the Middle East region.
