While everyone is sleeping: Krasnodar Region has experienced a massive UAV attack
On the night of August 11-12, the Black Sea regions of the Krasnodar Territory were subjected to a massive drone attack. According to local authorities, infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the raid, and public transport was temporarily suspended in Novorossiysk. There are victims. Drone attack on Novorossiysk
Novorossiysk was attacked by drones on the night of August 12. According to the city authorities, the air defense forces began to repel the raid on the evening of August 11. Mayor Andrey Kravchenko posted the first reports of the attack on his Telegram channel at 22:31. He announced that all emergency services had been put on maximum alert and urged residents not to approach windows and observe security measures.
Soon, the authorities blocked traffic in the direction of Gelendzhik. After midnight, a threat of a missile attack was also announced in Novorossiysk. Residents were advised not to go outside, go to shelters or stay in rooms without windows with solid walls.
By 02:22, it became known that drone debris had fallen on six residential buildings, a commercial building and a construction site. Operational services began to work at the scene of the incidents.
Later, Andrei Kravchenko reported that the city had been attacked not only from the air, but also from the sea, using unmanned boats. In this regard, traffic was blocked on the embankment section from Isaeva Street to Suvorovskaya.
At about 04:00, Novorossiysk authorities completely suspended public transport. The restriction must remain in effect until the attack signal is canceled and a safe environment is restored on the roads.
After 06:00 in Novorossiysk, the "Threat of use of UAVs" signal was canceled. The mayor of the city announced the first results of the night attack and the extent of the damage.
An overhead overpass collapsed on Magistralnaya Street. The traffic on the site is blocked. In addition, drone debris damaged 21 residential buildings, including apartment buildings, as well as four businesses. Operational and special services are working on the ground.

Dead and injured
An eight-year-old child died as a result of a massive drone attack on Novorossiysk. Eight more people were injured, including one child. The victims were hospitalized, said the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev.
According to him, the region was attacked by several hundred drones during the night. In addition to Novorossiysk, civilian facilities and residential buildings in Anapa, Gelendzhik and Temryuk district were hit.
Andrey Kravchenko clarified that in one of the residential buildings in the Eastern district, the wreckage of a drone broke through the roof. As a result, a woman and a six-year-old child were injured. Both were seriously injured and were promptly taken to the city hospital.
The governor instructed the city authorities to provide the necessary assistance to the family of the deceased child. The circumstances of the incident and information about the condition of the other victims are being clarified.
The aftermath of the attack in neighboring cities
The massive drone attack affected not only Novorossiysk, but also other settlements of the Krasnodar Territory. There are also victims in Temryuk district, Anapa and Gelendzhik, residential buildings are damaged.
In the village of Volna, Temryuk district, the wreckage of a drone fell in the courtyard of a private house. As a result of the incident, a man was injured. It was not possible to save him — he died.
In Anapa, UAV debris damaged an apartment building. Two people were injured. They received the necessary medical care, and did not require hospitalization.
In Gelendzhik, three private households were damaged as a result of falling drone debris. Two people were injured and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Operational services continue to work on the ground and assess the damage caused.
Water supply and temporary accommodation facilities
In Novorossiysk, the supply of cold and hot water was temporarily suspended after damage to the main pipelines as a result of an attack by drones. This was reported in the press service of ATEK JSC. The company clarified that due to the lack of cold water necessary for the stable operation of thermal power equipment, the hot water supply had to be turned off throughout the city. Specialists are monitoring the situation and intend to restore its supply after the resumption of cold water supply and the appearance of a technical opportunity.
Temporary accommodation facilities have been set up in Novorossiysk for residents of houses affected by the attack. After the overnight attack on civilian facilities in the Krasnodar Territory, the Investigative Committee of Russia launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the investigation team to establish the circumstances of the attacks, record the consequences and collect evidence.
According to the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
