The financier allowed the dollar exchange rate to rise to 85 rubles in August
This week, the dollar will trade in the range of 82.40–84 rubles, and the euro — in the range of 96-99 rubles. If the yuan gains a foothold above the 12 ruble mark, the next target for the Chinese currency in stock market trading may be the level of 12.50 rubles. Andrey Loboda, a member of the RASO and the expert council of the Forex Dealers Association for the development of the over-the-counter financial market, told Izvestia on August 10.
The Central Bank of Russia set official exchange rates for August 8: dollar — 82.1 rubles, euro — 94.8 rubles, yuan — 12.1 rubles. According to the Moscow Stock Exchange, on August 10, the yuan exchange rate was near 12.2 rubles.
"In the first decade of August, the ruble continues to weaken gradually against the world's leading currencies. Pressure on the Russian currency is exerted by a reduction in the supply of foreign currency, seasonal factors, the geopolitical situation and an increase in purchases of foreign currency and gold by the Ministry of Finance within the framework of the budget rule," the expert said.
According to him, the growing export revenues and the favorable situation on the energy market can partially contain the weakening of the ruble in the second half of August.
The expert noted that last week the dollar overcame the resistance level of 81.89 rubles. If the current rate of weakening of the Russian currency continues, the exchange rate may approach 85 rubles per dollar by the end of the second decade of August.
According to the expert, the high volatility of oil prices creates additional uncertainty. At the same time, the base forecast for the current week remains moderately neutral.
Yelena Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of National Savings Bank JSC, said on May 26 that sharp fluctuations in exchange rates in recent years have changed the behavior of private investors, as attempts to choose the right moment to buy dollars or euros are increasingly unsuccessful. The expert noted that the exchange rates are simultaneously influenced by oil prices, the policy of the Central Bank, sanctions and the expectations of the population.
