The Russian Embassy called the incident with the drone in Leipzig a provocation.
The situation with the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) neutralized at Leipzig Airport is a provocation, which was preceded by a series of "happy accidents". This was announced on August 7 by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Germany.
"The Embassy expresses concern about the new round of anti-Russian hysteria in Germany... The hastily concocted provocation serves exclusively the goals of Kiev and the militaristic wing of the European political class," the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
According to the Russian diplomatic mission, the authors of the staging decided to take the appropriate step in order to show the public an example of Moscow's alleged "hybrid attack." As part of the next stage, as suggested by the embassy, interested parties will promote this information channel in the media, and then they will accuse the Russian side completely without evidence.
It clarifies that history can serve as an argument for increasing European support for the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Based on this, the embassy drew attention to the fact that the main danger for Germany at the moment is its own political scriptwriters.
On August 5, a drone was found in the Leipzig aviation plant, which was packed with explosives. The discovery was made near a Ukrainian cargo plane. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said on the same day that the incident could be considered as a possible scenario of a hybrid attack.
Later, the German newspaper Bild noticed that the UAV remained unnoticed for more than four hours: the device appeared on video recordings at 19:30 (20:30 Moscow time) on August 5, and was shot down by a local bus driver only at 23:42 (00:42 Moscow time).
