Kazakhstan has proposed to introduce an electronic entry permit for foreigners
Kazakhstan may introduce paid electronic entry permits for foreign citizens and stateless persons. The document is published on the portal "Open NPAs".
The project is still under public discussion, which will last until August 17. The cost of obtaining an electronic permit is not indicated in the text. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan reported that the funds received are planned to be used for the maintenance and modernization of digital infrastructure, as well as to ensure the protection of personal data.
The agency proposes to implement the new system in stages from August to December 2026. According to the Interior Ministry, this will make it possible to adapt the logistical capabilities and infrastructure of the checkpoints to the new requirements. The ministry also believes that the electronic system will help increase the transparency of control over the movement of foreign citizens and track the movement of migrants across the country.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin on July 25, noted that Kazakhstan is one of the leading partners of the Russian Federation in the CIS. According to him, in addition to the economy, the countries are developing humanitarian and cultural cooperation in all possible areas, and the list of joint projects on the agenda is very large.
