Russian fighters told the details of the liberation of Svetly in the DPR

The military personnel of the Center group of forces spoke about the operation to liberate the settlement of Svetloye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The footage was distributed by the Russian Defense Ministry on August 3.

The operation began with a reconnaissance phase, during which units of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) identified elements of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The locations of command posts, unmanned systems positions, electronic warfare stations, and enemy strongholds were established.

After that, artillery units of the 14th Separate Artillery Brigade attacked the detected targets. Multiple rocket launchers and high-power artillery systems were used to destroy the targets. The remaining positions were hit by precision-guided munitions.

At the stage of the assault, motorized rifle units of the 5th separate Motorized Rifle Brigade acted in conjunction with drone strike calculations. UAV operators attacked enemy vehicles, firepower, and personnel.

"Our tasks are to knock out manpower so that our assaults can continue. We also shoot at manpower and equipment, fortified areas, dugouts, pillboxes (long-term firing point. — Ed.)," said the commander of the 2A65 weapon of the 14th artillery Brigade with the call sign Fish.

As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the AFU units suffered losses in manpower and weapons, after which they abandoned their positions and retreated to the western outskirts of the settlement.

The liberation of Svetloy creates conditions for further advance into the enemy's defenses. The occupied border allows us to control important logistical directions and use it for further actions in the direction of the city of Dobropillya, the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.

On July 29, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces had liberated the settlements of Svetloye in the DPR and Novaya Sich in the Sumy region. It was noted that with the help of tactical aviation and attack UAVs, armament, ammunition and fuel depots, production workshops and drone storage facilities, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 137 districts were hit.
