With age, the drainage system of the eye works worse, which is why fluid begins to accumulate and intraocular pressure increases.

At the same time, the specialist noted that the pressure may not increase all the time. During the examination, the indicators often remain within the normal range, although changes in the optic nerve are already occurring. That is why glaucoma is difficult to detect at an early stage, and regular examinations by an ophthalmologist are especially important.
