Lawyers have appealed the verdict of blogger Mitroshina for money laundering
The defense appealed the verdict of blogger Alexandra Mitroshina, who was sentenced to three years probation for laundering 127 million rubles. Her lawyer Mikhail Mushailov informed Izvestia about this on July 20.
"A brief complaint has been filed against the verdict. The decision to file a full and reasoned complaint will be made after receiving the verdict," he said.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office filed an appeal, disagreeing with the imposed punishment. The state prosecution insisted on a real deadline for Mitroshina.
Mitroshina was sentenced to three years of probation and a fine of 900 thousand rubles. She was found guilty of laundering 127 million rubles. Mitroshina's real estate worth a total of 115 million rubles will be confiscated into state ownership. At the same time, the blogger herself said after the verdict that she would continue to engage in a personal blog.
On June 18, criminal law specialist Vadim Bagaturia explained the essence of the suspended sentence. According to him, a convicted person must report to the Federal Penitentiary Service once every two weeks for three years and not commit offenses, otherwise the suspended sentence may be replaced by a real one.
On June 22, the Moscow Arbitration Court postponed the hearing of Mitroshina's bankruptcy case, giving her additional time to repay her debts to the tax authorities.
