Germany and the leadership of the European Union (EU) are committed to intensifying confrontation with Russia, while Berlin's calls for militarization and preparations for war contradict the interests of residents of Germany and other European states. This was announced on July 13 by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Germany.

"The policy pursued by the German authorities and the EU leadership towards Russia, which focuses not on dialogue, but on a constant increase in the degree of confrontation, is regrettable. All the more depressing are the increasingly loud calls from Berlin for frenzied militarization and preparations for war with Russia," the publication says on the website.

The embassy stressed that such a course poses a serious danger and does not meet the interests of residents of Germany and other European countries.

The press service of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the summoning of the Russian ambassador to Berlin, Sergei Nechaev, and a statement to him about the government's position. The Foreign Ministry noted that they hold Moscow responsible for allegedly committing cyber attacks on Germany, its partners in the European Union and Ukraine.
