Poland has announced its intention to build its own spacecraft

Poland intends to build its own spacecraft within the framework of the European Space Agency (ESA). This was announced by the President of Poland on July 13 at the opening of Poland's first space bureau in Warsaw.

"This is a crucial project for the first Polish spacecraft, which will be able to provide much stronger transport capabilities between Earth and satellites, satellite service, refueling, and so on," he was quoted as saying on the website of the Polish TV channel TVP.

According to Donald Tusk, ESA and Poland plan to jointly develop the "first Polish spacecraft" to expand space transport and satellite maintenance capabilities.

The Prime Minister stressed that the new ESA facility will be the organization's first center on the eastern flank of the European Union. On the basis of this complex, dual-use research is deployed, as well as projects in the field of security and crisis management, the technologies of which Tusk called strategically important.
