Corporal Dmitry Summatov served as an operator's gunner as part of the tank crew and provided support to Russian servicemen during the assault on the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Thursday, July 9.

The tank took up a concealed firing position and began firing at Ukrainian positions. The fire was corrected by aerial reconnaissance. Sammatov's professionalism allowed him to inflict serious damage on the enemy from the first shot. With a few more strikes, all the firing points on the enemy's base were successfully eliminated.

The Defense Ministry also noted the determination of Senior Lieutenant Vadim Slemenev, who commanded a rocket artillery platoon and was tasked with suppressing the AFU firing points before the planned assault.

Previously, Slemenev conducted a reconnaissance, and then personally led the calculation of one of the combat vehicles. Attacks on enemy positions were conducted according to the coordinates provided by aerial reconnaissance. The enemy was dealt a serious blow, and after completing the task, Slemenev promptly organized the withdrawal of the platoon and the camouflage of the guns. This made it possible to protect personnel and equipment from attacks by Ukrainian FPV drones, which soon appeared in search of an artillery platoon.
