The visit to Moscow by US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will provide an opportunity to clarify the White House's position on the Ukrainian conflict amid reports of Trump's allegedly changed approach. This was announced on July 8 by a diplomatic source.

"Now there are reports in the press that he (Trump. — Ed.) wants to reconsider the US position and help Ukraine more actively. This is all a subject for the presentation of those people who will come to Moscow," the source told RIA Novosti.

It was noted that reports of a change in Washington's approach to the Ukrainian conflict require additional clarification.

The situation in Crimea and the university admission campaign were also discussed at the meeting with the government.

On July 7, Trump expressed hope for an early resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. According to the American leader, following his recent talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, both leaders are now committed to a constructive settlement of the conflict.

The New York Times reported on July 3 that Witkoff and Jared Kushner are ready to travel to Russia and Ukraine if new issues arise for discussion.
