The massive abandonment of live communication in favor of audio devices is becoming a serious obstacle to new social contacts, and the headset serves as a signal of closeness and unwillingness to engage in dialogue. This was stated on July 7 in a conversation with Izvestia by Candidate of Psychological Sciences Alina Koroleva.

"In reality, you can't block a person, like on a dating site. Therefore, people use headphones to create a private space and protect themselves from intrusive interlocutors," the specialist noted.

According to the expert, men should refrain from persistent attempts to attract the attention of a girl wearing a headset, as this is an invasion of personal space. It is better to look for new acquaintances in places where women feel safe and open to communication, instead of trying to strike up a conversation with a man wearing headphones on the street.

"You should not break into a closed door if a person strongly emphasizes that he does not want to communicate. It is better to look for those who are ready to get to know each other — they look openly, respond to glances," the editorial interlocutor recommended.
