On July 1, American leader Donald Trump announced that Cuba was moving towards the United States.

"Speaking of Cuba, it's coming to us after many, many decades. I'll take care of it," he said during a visit to the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora.

On June 19, Trump announced that the United States could conduct an operation against Cuba similar to Venezuela. The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, said on June 10 that the scenario of the kidnapping of Cuban leader Miguel Diaz-Canel is among those being considered by Washington. At the same time, Hegseth clarified that Trump has the last word in choosing a strategy.

Vice President Jay Dee Vance noted on June 18 that the White House administration is negotiating with the Cuban government on possible changes in the country that will help improve bilateral relations with the United States. He noted that if the Cuban authorities make reasonable decisions, US relations with the island will become much better.
